My bits and bytes

I joined Amazon.com, Chennai on 27th June 2011 which also the day that marks my start of 7th year career. Thanks to my friend Vinoth Kumar who referred me in Amazon. I will be working as a Quality Assurance Engineer. And moving to Amazon made me to vacate Bangalore where I stayed for the past 6 years. I always loved Bangalore for its climate and from now I have adjust with an exact opposite climate in Chennai.

After 4 years and 1 month in Nokia India Pvt. Limited, I quitted the company on 24th June 2011. Nokia was always more than a company to me. I always felt it as my second home. I cannot forgot the days I spent there. Few things which I always remember about: Friends gang in Nokia, coffee and lunch time mokkais, sharing Muthu's lunch box, Treats, movies, catching the friday evening train to Dharmapuri, Coming back on Monday mornings from Dharmapuri and much more. I will surely miss you Nokia!!!

Last Friday (4th Feb 2011), Freecode club of KLN College of Engineering, Madurai organized an Free/Open Source softwares conference in the name of OSMEET11. There were about 150+ participants from various colleges in and around Madurai. I had a good time in the conference and enjoyed it. I got chance to meet some new people like Santhosh, Sibi, Sukumar who were handling other talks in the confernece. Also, I met my other friends Joe, Stylesen and Azhaguselvan who got their schedules for the other sessions.I was scheduled to talk about Drupal for 1 hour. There were about 70+ participants for the talk. I talked about Basics of Drupal, Installation of Drupal and using it. Though I couldn't talk insights about Drupal. I was able to show some basic stuff about it. There were few good questions from audience during the talk and after the talk. I have attached the presentation with this post.Thanks to Praveen Raj of KLNCE for inviting me to the talk and providing a opportunity to talk.

Initially I started my blogging with Blogspot and then moved to Wordpress. Then I have started my own site based on Drupal, 40 weeks before with Pixture Reloaded theme, and now I got changed to Kanji theme yesterday. After modifying few things in the theme now I am happy with the theme and freezed it from my side.

As planned with my sister and my uncle, we spent our Christmas holidays at Chennai along with my brother and sister-in-law. We reached Chennai by 24th December night. On 25th, we went to Nanganallur Anjaneyar temple, Snow Land @ Abirami Mall, Semmozhi poonga, Mylapore Kapaleeswarar temple and ended the day in Chennai Gandhi Beach. On 26th December, we went to Maangadu temple, Thiruverkadu temple and Periyapalayam temple. Some shopping ended the day. The trip was well planned and we enjoyed the trip.

Last Friday (7th January 2011) I handled Python session to the 3rd year students of Vivekanandha College of Engineering for Women, Thiruchengodu. The session was planned for one full day. The morning session was very interactive and there were many questions from the students. Afternoon session the interaction went little bit down but still they were able to understand the concepts well. The entire day was good and students are voluntarily helped in correcting my pronunciations .  I am happy about that. Thanks to Malathi, a teaching staff in the CSE department who invited me for the session. Thanks to all the students who attended the session and made the session interactive.
